Clover_236
Hi guys, I wanted to see if anyone knows what is the format of the reference letters that our referees are supposed to write? By that I mean is it a transitional free-form letter or do the referees have to answer specific questions, this would be similar to the McGill dentistry ref letter I think, where they ask referees to comment on applicant’s strengths/weaknesses, willingness to care for others, interest in social justice, etc. Thanks in advance. future_doc
I'm not quite sure how it works now, in the old days, you had the CAF they ticked off your attributes according to how they rated them according to category, e.e., top 5%, 10%. 20%, 50%, etc, they indicated your fitness for med and how many people they were comparing you to and where you stood in the pile. Then they could supplement with a LOR strongly advocating for you, ideally giving credible examples evidencing your suitability.
feversugar
Last year there were qualities such as "Leadership capabilities" etc and the ref had to rate you on a scale from 1 to 7, with an option of "cannot comment" There was also an additional text comments box at the end!
