ER001
Hello everyone, I am an Ontario resident so I do not think I have a good chance at McGill, but I am applying anyway, just in case! I am in the process of writing my personal statement and resume for McGill and was wondering how important research experience would be (eg. scientific research in a lab, medicine related, and non-scientific research). Do they care about it at all? Their website contains some information about dental research at McGill, but I was unsure if they would appreciate or welcome any prior experience (not dental-related research, but just research overall). Is research experience worth mentioning in the personal statement and the resume? Thanks everyone for reading and I highly appreciate any input/advice! aravis
YES research experience is worth mentioning. I think it'll show that you're passionate for something and that you're a committed person. Also don't forget to write about activities that involved lots of people skills. I think they look for that too.
mydent1st
I Agree researching is important, but the most important thing is the actual experience for the research. Meaning, your not just researching but also learning it.
