mm88
we don't have one. From Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/411130428920018/): "Hey Darren! There isn't really a white coat ceremony per se, but the U of C will have a naming ceremony for the Class of 2015 in which the Hellbenders (aka Snot Otters, Class of 2014) will christen your class with an animal mascot that has either a super gross function in the ecosystem or an equally disgusting name. Another naming ceremony will happen in the new year, in which you get to individually name all of your classmates and the name that is chosen for you will be on the back of your personal jersey." 13 May at 22:20 · Like
astrogirl
There is a Welcome to the Profession ceremony on Aug. 7. A lot of people bring their family to that. It's going to be awesome...
LostLamb
It better be astrogirl... I liked the welcome to the profession, I think my eyes welled up with tears during it because it seemed so unreal. However, the most memorable part was the class-naming ceremony. Welcome to the class marykate

Now I know what we won't be called! Random aside: pandas and flamingos aren't gross!

Random aside: pandas and flamingos aren't gross! I think the gross animals were a recent development (i.e. in the last 10-20 years).
