foxtail
When I asked my representative (UofA) about the 30,000 points, he said that I would not receive the points because the annual fee is waived. Should I have received the points?

leviathan
It's available for new ScotiaGold visa accounts but not for switching from an existing Scotia Visa. Damn...I also switched from a moneyback card (what they gave me with my professional LOC) to a Passport recently, so I didn't get the 30,000 bonus points. I think the RBC Avion is a better card, even with an annual fee. If you spend $15,000 with that card you can get a short-haul round trip flight (up to $350). You'd have to spend $35,000 with Scotia for the same reward. The one benefit that Scotia has is 5% back on flight purchases, which I don't think RBC has.
