LMCC- required for second iteration?

Recommended Posts

So here's the deal: I'm an American medical graduate, but I'll have done some residency in the US, relegating me to the second iteration in Canada. Given that I don't have any electives in the place in Canada I want to go- but I have a good reason to be there-spouse, I'm okay with any residency there- so likely family medicine, would it enhance my application/chances if I took the LMCC this November while I applied through CaRMS? (Or will it not matter, in which case I can just take it in May, before I would be starting residency in Canada if all goes well with matching?) Thanks in advance.
