cclawfjj
What's with the hold-up this year? Wasn't 2012 edition released on July 1st?
Prof.A.DumbleDore
I would hazard a guess and say that the announcement regarding the upcoming changes to MCAT may have resulted in the delay.
Savac
I have a feeling that you're right. I figured that they would have changed the system next year, but if they want to take out the WS a year early I won't complain

Link
well now they require 4 brief essays I think I liked the 1000 word essay about why I want to be a doctor, a lot better than describing "a time where I solved a problem"...
Lost&Found
Me too How are we supposed to make our answers creative while still answering the questions in only 250 words?

Savac
I agree that this will be a better way to screen applicants. I'm just lazy, by which I mean I'd rather perfect one essay than try to perfect four.

future_doc
But you will do what you have to do and obviously, you cannot be lazy as a poor job is a deal breaker and an exceptional answer goes a long way in your favour.
Savac
Oh, absolutely! I won't be happy about it because I had already somewhat started doing an essay for the old format, but I'll still put in 110% for these new ones

Legion
I have a feeling U of T will be devising some computer-based test (like CASPER) in the future. Lets hope so
Link
Typical interview question usually found in the business world. Nice to see it on a med application I'm not saying this way is bad...I just thought the old way was more useful. UofT sounds like they're just using Mac's old application format with the questions/mini-essays. Did they do something like this before CASPER? I've never even heard of anything about that I have a feeling U of T will be devising some computer-based test (like CASPER) in the future. Lets hope so FIRST THING I THOUGHT WHEN I READ THESE QUESTIONS! lol
