Worth Mentioning?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just wanted some opinion on something. So this year I was rejected from all the medical schools that I had interviewed at. After some personal introspection, I decided that my interviewing and oral communication skills were in of dire need of work. That being said, I joined a club for public speaking so I could work on these qualities. My question is, should I mention this fact when I have the opportunity to do so on my applications, i.e. through UofT's personal statement, Calgary's impact statement, so forth, or would that draw attention, and potentially raise eyebrows to the fact that I'm not very good at communicating the begin with??

Thanks

DE

Don't take my opinion seriously as I'm still an undergrad and don't know the process well enough.

BUT, I'd think it would be a good idea to mention. It shows that you could identify your weaknesses and were willing to take steps to solve it.
