Zhivago
Apparently “The Dark Knight Rises” shooter from Aurora, Colorado was a student at Colorado Medical School. Yikes! So, yes a student at the UC Med school, but not an M.D. student.

Not to be a **** in pointing this out--but that is really naive IMO. If it were really that obvious that sociopaths were sociopathic, you dont think the people that knew HIM would have also suspected something? There is just no way you know your class that well lol, research in the area shows that most ppl who commit acts like this are pretty affable and charasmatic. Im not suggesting there were sociopaths in your class, Im just saying that if there were, you likely would have no way of knowing.

FacelessMage
There's some direct-to-PhD programs. Usually the student will just do a preliminary year (sort of like a faux Masters) and then get advanced to being a PhD candidate if they do well in this first year. I've seen a couple of clinical psych programs like this.
bored
I'm surprised that he only completed a Bachelor's degree before enrolling in the PhD program. Aren't people supposed to get their Master's before getting their PhD? in the US, PHD programs are 5 year. so people can do them straight out of undergrad, whereas in Canada and (elsewhere) phd as 3 years programs with some more post doc work. I think.
