Bit of a dumb question re:Biochem

Recommended Posts

My university offers only one course in biochemistry, it is one semester with lab.

UOttawa's prereqs state biochemistry without lab.

As part of my degree, I'll be taking a full year general chemistry, one semester Biochem (with lab) and one semester orgo. I was under the impression that this would fulfil the requirements for UOttawa

But will my Biochem course not count because it has a lab? In that case I'd need to take a full year of orgo, which I'm considering doing anyway as I may consider applying to UofA as well (still not sure about it.)

When they say without lab, they mean a laboratory component is not necessary, as far as I understand. This is because some intro biochems don't have a lab component and some do, depending on the University you are attending.

Ah, okay. I was worried it was because different content was covered in a labless class. I'll email them to confirm that.
