4th year IP, Second time applying.

Waitlisted at both UofA and UofC.

Felt really good about half of my MMI stations, and wished I had added that little bit of pizazz to the others. Competitive stats/EC's.

Congrats to everyone accepted/waitlisted, it's a great accomplishment!

Content about sitting it out for the moment, but time will tell...

Got the email from glepage-wilcox at 10.45AM MST

Accepted at both UA and UC, still thinking about where to go. I like the UC programs but UA is my hometown. Lots of pros and cons to be considered. But of course I have to make up my mind before May 29.

Was anyone/know anyone that was rejected/got no email?

Yes, I have not received anything from U of A yet. I am a 3yr IP applicant with a 3-yr BSc, major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Here are my stats:

Cumulative GPA: 3.987

MCAT: 37Q (14BS, 10VR, 13PS)

EC: sports, music, volunteer, working in a doctor's office for ~6-8 years.

I hope we get to be in the know soon enough!

Edit: I noticed that the BearTracks says "Decision pending." For those of you who have been accepted, does your BearTracks still say Decision Pending?

Got in at 11 pm today.

My stats are as follows:

1st year : 3.88

2nd year: 3.66

3rd year: 3.14, failed a biochem course

4th year: 3.87

5th year (Current) : 4.00 (full course load)

MCAT: 33S

EC: Volunteer with ESL students, president of a club, a health presenter, experience working in hospitals

I really f***ed up but managed to make a come back. I realize that I am pretty lucky to have gotten an acceptance in light of the stiff competition.

Advice: Do what you love. There is no hurry, so don't try do everything at once. Be Slow and steady. You must be resilient to go through this process. Good luck to everyone else.

Applied: UofA, UofC, UWO, UT, UMan

Interviews: UofA, UofC, UWO

Accepted: UofA

Waitlisted: UofC

UWO??

This is my first post, but I have been looking around for some time. I appreciated it when people would post their stats, so here are mine.

My stats are as follows:

1st year : 3.2

2nd year: 3.2

3rd year: 3.5

4th year: 3.9

5th year :3.75

Grad studies:3.7

MCAT: 14PS 11VR 14BS P(WS)

EC: Volunteered in hospitals, at a crisis call center, soup kitchen, youth group, overseas public health work, various things with my church, worked labour jobs most summers, and absolutely no research(unfortunately)

3rd time applying

Applied to UofA, UofC, UofM(rejected pre-interview)

Accepted at UofA, UofC

If you were rejected, just know that your year off can be a great thing. Make the most of it now, because 40 years from now, when you retire from practice, you won't be wishing you could have worked for one more year.

Just got my rejection letter, in-province.

U of A cGPA 3.61, pre-req 3.66, MCAT 10.67 T.

I was surprised to see that I got straight out rejected, because they sent me a breakdown of the average admitted scores and I'm either above or VERY slightly (like 5%, tops) below average in everything but GPA, which is around 3.75. My understanding is that they reject very few IPs outright, so I expected to come home and find out that I got like 0/25 on the interview or something, but that was hardly the case. I'm assuming it means that I should be successful next time, since my GPAs will have gone up (I got a 4.0 this year), but nonetheless, I was surprised with a rejection - I thought I'd get a waitlist.

I'm so excited to have been accepted off of the waitlist today that I'm just shaking with adrenaline. I just finished 2nd year with a cGPA and pGPA of 3.84. My MCAT score was a 36Q (with an 8 in VR which very fortunately did not precipitate my demise). So yeah, I'm pretty happy and I can't wait to work with you all.

Hi everyone - here are my stats.

3rd year in province applicant that was accepted on May 15.

Applied: UofC and UofA

Accepted on May 15: UofC and UofA

Turned down my spot at UofC to attend UofA in the fall!

cGPA: 3.91

pGPA: 3.95

MCAT: 31S (12PS, 8VR, S, 11BS)

Extracurriculars: Strong research and volunteering. Lots of awards, competitions, and scholarships in sports and fine arts.

I was happy with the interview - but wasn't expecting to get in as I am a 3rd year.

My advice to new applicants? Don't let one bad section on the MCAT stop you from applying. Because of VR, I almost didn't apply - but I am glad I did!

Looking forward to seeing you all in September! :)
