Med Schools w/o heavy science course reqs

I have only completed first year Biology, Chemistry and one semester of O-Chem (w/o lab). I am in 3rd year EE so I have met any other likely pre-reqs such as Physics, Maths, Stats or Humanities. My top choice schools (UBC, UofT, UofO) all require Biochem. I am doing co-op and also extending my studies by a year so meeting these requirements is not an issue.

 

However, I would like to at least get a feel for the application process next year. Who knows, I might even get lucky. Are there any schools in Canada only requiring first year biology and chemistry other than McGill? I remember there was one school that had a light set of pre-req courses but I can't seem to recall or find it.

Ucalgary has no formal pre reqs, apply and see what happens!

There are history, English, economics etc. major students who apply and are accepted to med school. As long as you meet the pre-requisites and beast the MCAT, you are more than fine!

Memorial and Dal should be ok for you too, but double check.

 

Also maybe Queens.

 

I applied for them all out of a mech eng. degree.
