Is there such a thing as a medical speciality that doesn't do the same 2-3 procedures repeatedly as their bread and butter?

You make a good point, but I did find it especially repetitive compared to other fields. Of course I'm speaking from the perspective of a med student who only spent a month there. I also imagine it might be a lot more exciting if you're the one in the driver's seat. I closed the skin up at the end of the cases and cut sutures but that was about it, the rest was just observing.
