Birdy Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 Whether it counts or not depends on the policies of the schools he is applying to, not the school he attends. Most med schools exclude summer courses from their GPA calculations. Mac is actually one of the few that includes them.

Well better than fine as he has a 4.0 GPA
nem90 Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Hi, I have a friend who has a perfect 4.0 in both 1st and 2nd year. However, he took a summer course and did not pass. What is the impact of this on his chances? Keep in mind he goes to Mac, and the summer course was taken at Mac, which means it counts in his cGPA. Thank you for any help Can you explain how that happened? If it happened at all..

Savac Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Which program? I sense a flame war about a certain program at Mac coming...
dazzle Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 I sense a flame war about a certain program at Mac coming... justified flame war to be fair.... 4.0 in a program but can't pass a stand-alone summer course
Savac Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 justified flame war to be fair.... 4.0 in a program but can't pass a stand-alone summer course I agree completely, it's totally ridiculous. Even so, there's no reason to argue about it here.
rmorelan Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 justified flame war to be fair.... 4.0 in a program but can't pass a stand-alone summer course Maybe - I will say people often attempt weird and wonderful summer plans coupled with working etc - there could be a bunch of reasons for this
