Alastriss Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Hey, For those of you who applied to family medicine as well as other specialties, I'm wondering if anyone else has run into the issue where all the interview slots are booked and they put you on a waiting list for an interview. I am just not sure as to why they would send you an interview if there is a chance they cannot even accommodate you. What's the deal?
dan0105 Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 wow that sucks. I guess they are expecting some people to drop their interviews due to conflicts or changes in interest. Not cool tho, sorry to hear that. I think that is worthy of emailing them as you need to be able to start booking flights too.
Alastriss Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Posted December 29, 2012 It's kind of dumb since I'm waiting on internal med and they don't come out till January 6th and I was hoping to wait and see how those pan out.

That is kind of dumb. If they are doing that on purpose it is an interesting screening tool.

I am just not sure as to why they would send you an interview if there is a chance they cannot even accommodate you. What's the deal? Yes, the same thing has happened to me. Every single slot is full. How did they send out so many more invites than there are slots? I'm not sure what to do other than wait and hope people drop some of theirs. What's also stupid is that in Ottawa U's system, we can pick only one time slot for a waiting list. What if I'm able to accommodate a couple of different days? Ugh!
