Degree and Acceptance Question

Recommended Posts

Wish I could be more help but I haven't kept up on requirements. I do know Western makes you graduate. Check the admissions sections for each med school anyways. Its better than info on here because its straight from the source and the most up to date.

You can finish a degree online though. There have been a few people on the forums who have received conditional acceptances (conditional upon graduating) and quickly athabasca'd a course in a few weeks. I remember supafield doing this to get into Ottawa.

I know you're feeling desperate but keep in mind this is a long ass journey and absolute worst case scenario you re-apply this year with a degree. Lots of people hit all kinds of speed bumps and its OK. That said you might not have to! Get in touch with an academic advisor, look up some courses, and check out the websites for the schools you applied to.

When I applied, whenever there was ambiguity on an admission or selection policy, I just emailed the school. Then I could rest easy having an official answer in writing. Might wanna do that if you can't find what you're looking for.

Hey guys,

First post here. I have a question about medical schools and incomplete degrees.

I currently am three credits short (one course) of graduating with my degree, and I applied this year to all the Ontario med schools and Calgary. My first three years I have a full course load, but in my fourth year I had some family troubles and dropped a course - and I wasn't able to graduate. This year I'm just working to save up a bit of money.

Does anyone know which of the Ontario schools and also if Calgary would admit someone without a completed degree and also not a full course load in their final year? In addition, would anyone know if it's possible to complete a degree online by taking a single course via correspondence?

Thanks so much!
