1fuzzy2dino3
Hi boys and girls, hoping this is a lounge-worthy question. What hair care products make your hair oh-so-silky soft? lately, my hair has become so fragile, and roughened, and weirdly has developed these flyaways and kinks. I used to have soft smooth luscious thick hair....now it's roughened, and def not smooth! Oh, and i def don't use heat or tools of anykind. just wash, air dry, and go. what to do what to do? and more importantly, what to use? thanking you in advance. hehe. sprinkles
I would recommend going the all natural way. Coconut oil! When you buy it its in solid form. Take a teaspoon/tablespoon (depending on how much hair you have) and rub it in the palm of your hands (it should melt!) then apply all over the hair focusing on mid to end sections. Allow it to sit in there as long as you can then take a shower (warning you should probably not leave the house with the oil in your hair unless you want people to think you havent washed your hair in months ) but it works WONDERS. especially in the winter I make sure to do it every few days (you could also melt the oil in the microwave after like 15 seconds if thats easier for you to apply (in liquid form))

Coconut oil is amazing as a pre-shampoo conditioner. I would also add an egg and make a little DIY hair mask. I don't know what hair type you have so I can't recommend any specific products, but use sulphate-free shampoos/conditioners. It makes a difference, especially if you have curly hair . . . or any type of hair really since the sulphates strip the hair of most of its moisture. Use a hair mask in the shower. Use conditioner after that and don't rinse it out a 100%, leave some in. Since you said your hair is "roughened'", it sounds like your hair is breaking so I would switch to satin/silk pillowcases instead of the normal ones. FrenchToast
If you're like me and too lazy to go hard-core with coconut oil, I'd recommend Moroccanoil. My hairdresser told me to use it because my hair gets really dry. (She's a nice lady, so I trust her.) I have thick wavy hair btw. http://www.moroccanoil.com/canada/h_ca_en/moroccanoilr-treatment Oh and it smells really good... which is kind of the only reason I haven't given up on it yet like I do with everything else, haha.
