med-dream
I'm currently in year 4 and got interview invitation from UBC this year. If I don't get in,I may think about applying other med- schools. I know a lot of schools have very high GPA cut-off lines to OOP. But my first 3 year average GPA is not high:82%. Does anyone know which school I could apply,or which school has lower GPA cut-off line that I could try? Thanks for help.
hockeypenguin04
Its hard to say going by average (and not GPA) but I know MUN has no actual cutoff, and they still use an older style way of calculating GPA which tends to make it higher than it would be on the mainland (80-100 = 4; 65-79 = 3; 55-64 = 2; 50-54 = 1). How heavy do they weigh EC's?
hockeypenguin04
Well there's no way to know for sure, but I'd imagine rather heavily. I've known people with great GPA's/MCAT's to be turned away, and they happen to have had mediocre EC's, but again no way to know for sure.
