University of Regina vs. University of Saskatchewan

Recommended Posts

Do you think it's easier to achieve higher marks at the University of Regina than at the University of Saskatchewan?

Because from what I've learned on this forum, most Ontario students go to York to do their premed rather than the University of Toronto. Even though U of T is much more prestigious than York, it's harder to get high marks there and the competition is also fierce.

I have a feeling the same thing applies between Saskatchewan and Regina.

From what I've heard... the marks are easier to come by in Regina... (than Saskatchewan)... don't ask me why? I heard certain universities are much easier than others... but I think choosing the right degree... will give you better marks than university...

Obviously you can't compare an Engineering major at the U of S with a Psychology major at the U of R. But the Psychology major at the U of R might have an easier time than the Psychology major at the U of S.

I also heard it's easier to get high marks in the prerequisite courses for Medicine at the U or R, than at the U of S.

So word of advice: Get your degree at the University of Saskatchewan if you want to graduate from the more prestigious school. But at least move to Regina to do your prerequisites.

I find that a lot of applicants who get accepted into the College of Medicine here after their 2nd year did their undergraduate studies/prerequisites at the University of Regina.

So it must be easier to get high marks at the University of Regina than at the University of Saskatchewan.

U of R Kin must be the easiest degree ever then.. right? Might have to switch there for the easy marks ;)

Personally I did 2 years at U of R, then my 3rd year in Physiology & Pharmacology at U of S. I was a mid 80's student at U of R, but got mid 90's at U of S. Maybe it was the school, maybe it was me. Who knows. And as far as the comment above about U of S being more prestigious than U of R? No one cares where you went for undergrad. Especially in medicine. It's a pass/fail system, all that matters is how you perform when the heat is on (i.e. OSCE's, residency, MCCQE's..)
