NZT
Hello, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place. I'm a Canadian pre-med, and I am interested in persuing a DO degree (who are not allowed to practice in Canada). I was wondering what type of volunteer experience do I need? I have shadowed people with M.D. degrees, and have worked as a "pharmacy tech" (more or less) which I believe broadens my horizons in the field of medicine. Do I need to specifically shadow an DO to see the "osteopathic" side of things? The reason I'm asking this is because a med student friend of mine who is studying podiatry said I absolutely need to shadow a podiatrist, so I was wondering if it's the same with DO's? Thanks, NZT
dreamerman
DO's are completely allowed to practice in Canada.
NZT
Oh... I didn't know that! But is it absolutely crucial to shadow a DO? I thought MD's and DO's are equivalents so...?
