mcgillbio2015
I'm wondering about how the conditional works. If I have only my 3rd year mark over 3.7 (around 3.9 approx), would I get an invite?

If you also have full course load, at least 3.0 credits at the 3rd year or higher and meet the GPA cutoff - which was 3.7 last year, we don't know what it is yet for this year - then yeah you would get an invite under the policy. You would then HAVE to get above the cutoff again during your fourth year.

I was under the impression that getting a conditional offer only happened in the cases of not having enough years in bank of one's 2nd bachelor's degree. What is the selection process post-interview? Does GPA still count?

Does GPA still count? Traditionally Western is very open about its selection criteria - you meet them, you get an interview. Simple on paper but of course it often takes a bit of work, particularly for the 11 VR. There is nothing official about what happens post interview. We have very, very old data that it involved at the time still GPA and MCAT but that is really so long ago it is hard to base anything off of it. If you pour through the accepted/waitlist/rejected lists it seems that GPA still plays at least a role if you can track the pattern. Regardless of all of that what is actually important is that people DO get into the school under the conditional acceptance rules and anyone who gets an interview is being seriously courted by the school. There is little point wasting time/energy interviewing a person if that is not true. I think anyone interviewing should keep that in mind - the interview matters, it is very important
