2013 Cutoffs

Recommended Posts

Has anyone on here ever been rejected when they made both cuttoffs?

Yes, because they failed to meet one of the other rules (3/5 course rule, full time status.....)

However I have never run into anyone in all my time here that met all the rules and the cut offs that did not get an interview. Still the school will reserve the right to do it some really unusual circumstance I suppose.

how can you fail to meet the 3/5 course rule? ie the 3.7 cutoff in combination with that?

I was rejected last year because of the 3/5 rule and it specifically mentioned that in the rejection letter. My GPA qualifying years (4th and 5th year) were heavy on 2000 level psych courses.

I was well aware of this beforehand but applied anyways since it was a newer rule and no one seemed quite sure if admissions would budge if you had a valid reason (in my case added a minor in psychology). They did not, but it made my decision easier. :D

Makes sense - this sort of thing does happen from time to time. Western has relatively few rules, they are quite obvious and they are enforced :) Nice and transparent!

What's the history of MCAT cutoffs for Western? I hear 9/11/10 is pretty standard. Has the BS cutoff ever been 11?

It has been. I think it was 2008-2009??, or whatever year it was right before they changed it to VR=11.

I redid my MCAT because the required UWO BS was an 11 (I had got 10), and VR was 10, (I had a 10) then the very year after, they changed it to what it currently is, BS=10, VR=11

(my second MCAT was BS12, PS11, VR10, womp womp)
