To those that have recently taken the Canadian Citizenship Test (Post 2010)

Hey gang

I may have to do the Canadian Citizenship test real soon and as you know they have made the test much more difficult (Fail rate ~ 20-30%).

To those that have taken it, how relevant do you think the questions are on this website? I have been doing many of the questions here. They say they're questions that can answer most of the curriculum covered by Discovery Canada (The booklet you're supposed to study for the test) and I was wondering how effective the questions are.

The questions are from here:

http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/

Thank you very much guys!

Your message can be treated in 2 ways:

#1 Let your message be really honest, in this case I see that you want to become a doctor one day (obviously you are not one yet), so being aware of the amount of exams/test/evaluations you have to expect on your way You are still freaking out about a citizenship test ????

Conclusion - man, you are an idiot, sorry but that's a fact ;)

#2 Let your message be a troll, you wrote the message, conclusion => You are a troll

Regards :)

The citizenship exam is a language test, not a knowledge test. The reason some people fail is that some people speak little or no English or French and can't read it. If you're fluent then a 100% adequate study strategy is to pick up the brochure on the way to your seat and flip pages while you wait for the test to start.

They give you 30 minutes for the exam. My husband and I, both native English speakers, were done in 3 minutes. The Asians in the room came out in a group right at 30 minutes looking worried. Overhearing them talking among themselves it was pretty obvious their difficulty was just the language.

You'll never learn your actual score but I'm confident I got 100% or nearly so. The answers are stupidly obvious if you can read them. Here's a sample question that's not too far off:

Q: The first letter in the word "Canada" is:

A: Saskatchewan

B: Queen Elizabeth the Second

C: The letter "C"

D: Hudson Bay Company

E: War of 1812

From what you said here it seems that the test is more to differentiate whether your IQ is more than 85 and you are OK or less then 85 and need further investigations :) , which bring us to my first point(first reply)...

no way for you to do a scientific career(and you obviously want to do one is you are visiting forums like this one  ) in this country if you consider this evaluation as a test to worry about,,, insane... LOL

I have always taken every exam seriously. ;)

seriously ?! ;)

i'm kidding,

but really, this is not even an exam - my point is that if you worry about tests like that one, what would you should do for your MCAT exams, MMIs, specialty exams, or what would you do if you fail/don't get the expected results ?

one has to differentiate really esseantial/important things from just usual once (like this one is)...

I have rarely worried about anything :P on the basis of "be prepared always." :)

Whenever you don't meet your expectations, you rewrite or have a Plan B. I have not always met my expectations, which really is a lesson in humility but have achieved my goals even if not in the shortest possible time.

it's all about you... interesting...
