Anyone find that...

Anyone find that during anatomy lectures when lecturers explain to you the weaknesses of the human body you wonder why the human body was made this way? I mean how come we have the 8 carpal bones and not just one? How come there's an anastamoses at the surgical neck of humerus and not elsewhere? Why is the left side and the right side of the lymphatic system different. Why isn't the human body more perfect and symmetrical?

To be honest I find it much more perplexing that, given the insane amount of intricate and exact process that must work properly for the body to function, that anyone is ever healthy. Okay so you can name a few things about body design that You think could be improved, try to count the things that the body does right, you'll be counting until your 96 years old.

If you are questioning these things during anatomy lectures, wait till you get to the physiology lectures and your head might just explode with questions!:D

this is why humans will never be able to produce a robot as functional as we humans are.

the body is reflective of the fact that the nature/universe is made to be dynamic/variable/fluid so that we are able to adapt to so many conditions/situations we face in this world.

That's the whole principle behind the physics/nature of this whole world. It's all about change and flexibility and variability. The co-existence of chaos (e.g. entropy) and order (e.g. gravity).

anyways, i find it weird that light has to travel through multiple layers of neurons/fibres before getting to the actual photoreceptors (Rods/cones). How would our vision have been if it wasn't that case

or if ur a nerd like me, read like 1000 page biopsychopharm textbooks including immunoneuromodulatory, endo factors... and then ur just like wow, just wow, holy ****... god knows, the brains my thing, im sure people into other stuff going into detail about their niche interest would blow my mind more, i think there's too much mindblowingness for one person to even take in...

i also agree with futuregp's statement in that the oxymoron of the body is likely due to its ridiculous ability to react to the environment... to me the immune systems always been the top of the "wow im blown away'ness" to me, and honestly, i think many of the syndromes with unknown etiologies... prob immune related explaining why causes are so idiosyncratic...

and there's also the hard problem of consciousness that no one dares to touch

The human body was not made lol.

Sure there are many pointless things in the body that no one notices. But how about things which are useless and of annoyance? There's many things in the body, such as the hymen for women. Serve no purpose at all but actually cause difficulty.

Hair growth in certain places... unneccessary.

If the human body was designed (which it 100% was not), then the designer did a horrible job.

your so informationally sparse it's no use conversing... here, cosmological constant, two words.... i could go into every branch of you know what for hours and hours at a fervant pace, but yeah, it's like yelling at your dog when he drools on the carpet, he doesn't get it
