missmathematics
It is 3.85 OOO, IP for this year.
sgt.pepper
It is 3.85 OOO, IP for this year. Is it not odd that no one between 3.85-3.9 got an interview last year? Who told you this? I though someone mentioned that the adcom said the cutoof was between 3.85 and

drtrumpet
Last year I had a wGPA of 3.81, my rejection email said, "Your application was carefully reviewed and although your academic performance did meet the required level, we regret that the evaluation of your detailed autobiographical sketch does not permit your application to advance further in the selection process." Does that mean that I met the cutoff last year?

I though someone mentioned that the adcom said the cutoof was between 3.85 and 4 Someone called admissions and they confirmed that for this year it is 3.85 (from another thread). It has been 3.85 for the past few years as well. It is a bit odd, but maybe this thread isn't representative.

BAMFtastic
I am OOP - NFLD Take a look at the conversion scale. It SUCKS applying from Memorial University. (Column 6) http://www.ouac.on.ca/docs/omsas/c_omsas_b.pdf Over the last 25 course I have averaged 95.3% and I still don't have a perfect GPA applying. Not only do you (on average) require a lower GPA IP, but most Ontario schools are 90+ for a 4.0 not a 94+ #jealous

I'm assuming you are IP but not in Ottawa
drtrumpet
I'm from Ottawa...does that make a difference?
missmathematics
Yes yes it does. The cut-off is different for those from Ottawa...Don't know what it is but yes you made it last year and will most likely make it again.
drtrumpet
doubt it...since my 3.81 is now a 3.73 :S

Bad luck on my part. But I have two 93s... lol So that little margin would have helped me. Additionally, the other ones are between 90-92 so if applying from other Ontario Schools I would have a 4.
Savac
doubt it...since my 3.81 is now a 3.73 :S The Ottawa cutoff, as far as I recall, has been 3.70 for a while
Tuffy1
Does the Ottawa cut off really lend that much advantage? How is someone that makes this cut off really competitive against those from other categories? Do they no longer really look at Gpa once cut off met? missmathematics
What I do not understand is how after meeting cutoffs apparently it is just ABS that is taken into account in determining who gets an interview...I feel that we should have seen wayyy more 3.85-3.9s get interviews if this was indeed the case. Edit: Nvm. This is answered in another thread.
