Clever
How do I make a figure comparing 4 different individuals? I have never used excel before... More detail: I need to put something on an X axis, the Y axis, and data of 4 different individuals on the same figure. I don't know how to do this... heeeeeelp

Clever
x axis will be velocity y axis will be torque I have to have the data of 4 participants on the same figure. Individual 1 will be a diamond, 2 a square, 3 a triangle... A basic XY scatterplot

Quantum
Insert your graph which should start off blank. Then right click and hit select data. Hit add and chose your X and Y variables (just highlight them and it will automatically add it). Then hit add again and go through the same process adding your Y variables for your second participant and use the same X access as the first. Then just do the same for the other two. rmorelan
6 for each person Not really a problem then - can you put the data in a table and PM me it - that way we are working on the same page.
Clever
Not really a problem then - can you put the data in a table and PM me it - that way we are working on the same page. I have made it work! I just put velocity in column A and then values for peak torque in columns B-F with slot 1 left open as title. Then I just had to pick the right chart layout and remove the stuff I didn't need. Never thought excel could infuriate me that much. That'll teach me to put things like this off until the last possible moment! Thanks Rob. I'm not sure how, but your hands guided mine.

Last semester I did the graphs by hand. But now we are required to do it on the computer. Yeah, it's easy once you learn how to do it, but, ain't nobody got time for that! Glad you got it working!

Once you learn the inner workings on excel it is absolutely incredible. I still prefer more advanced programs for hardcore data analysis/intelligence but excel is very powerful. I took it for granted in the business world just how useful excel is because, naturally, I just had to know it very well over the years for me to be good at my job but having gone back to school now I realize just how invaluable knowing it can be.
