What do you guys think of this MMI response video?

I watched this just now and I did not like the response as it was too rehearsed and she would wonder off from the main point sometimes.

I thought it was an ok performance, but I don't have anything else to compare it with. She handled the situation differently than I would have in a few aspects, but I found it refreshing to see the situation from a different perspective.

 

One thing that I will say is that she explores the situation from a lot of angles, but perhaps too many. I think that it would have been more effective if she focused on a few less ideas, since this would allow her to fully develop those ideas and ultimately make her argument more persuasive.

Echoing Sav, I have nothing to compare to nor do I know anything about the marking guidelines. So my gut: I wonder if / or at what point our observers dock us for repeating ourselves or trying to expand on such a simple point that really needed no further explanation - i.e. dumbing it down too much to fill in more time.

 

For me, there was way too much talk. An answer can be efficient, cover most critical points and be done in much less time. That is my personal style, but you have to do what works for you. Rambling on runs the risk of the interviewer tuning you out, even if for a short time. That can't be great for scoring.

 

I would leave time to let the interviewer probe so I can expand on my answers and have more of a 'discussion' which, if anything, hopefully keeps my interviewer upright and conscious.
