in2bat0r
A few applicants, myself included, have done English 255 (composition) through Athabasca, and I've had no problems using it as a pre-req.
page_matrix
I'm also doing 255 and 211 during the application year and UBC is fine with those courses.
kylamonkey
I did my english prereq through online learning- UBC offers online courses in english as well. I did Engl 112. I actually really, really dislike english as an online course. It is so hard to understand what the prof is doing when you don't have any face-to-face time with them. kylamonkey
Doable- I guess. I got an A- but I felt I should have done better. I have an S on the MCAT! Athabasca might let you get a better grade, I don't know. I thought it was very subjective and the tutor didn't communicate well.
12345c
I am currently enrolled in Engl. 255 at Athabasca and intend to enrol in 211 when I finish 255. I have to say the course is very tutor dependant. If you get a tutor that is an easy marker, you are golden. If you don't (in my case) it is tough to get a good mark. The assignments are not that difficult. There are 5 in total and a final. I am hoping for a B+/A-, which is doable even with a hard tutor. English is a hard course, if you want an A you will have to work you butt off. PM me if you need any more info...

chessman
I know that physics is not a required pre req for UBC, but' I'm considering taking physics 200 and 201 or 202 anyway from Athabasca. Has anyone taken any of these courses? If so, what were these classes like/what are your thoughts about Athabasca? Thanks.
