tberry3
I'm looking to book a hotel but don't know the city well - most of the ones near Queen's are similarly priced and have similar ratings so I thought I'd check and see if anyone has any personal advice. Any good/bad experiences with certain hotels on past interview weekends?
lwu018
I would look into a couple of the B&Bs nearby. I stayed at the Secret Garden Inn (http://www.thesecretgardeninn.com/) a couple weeks ago for the MD / PhD interview and found it was an excellent stay because of the close proximity to the school (~ 8-10 minute walk) and the owner made amazing breakfasts. The room I stayed had creaky floors, which was a little annoying, but overall it was nice. Also, if you tell the owner you are coming up for a medical school interview she will knock the price down to around $115-120. Another B&B that looked really nice from the outside and is extremely close to the school (<5 mins walking distance) is the Hochelaga Inn. Hope you all enjoy Kingston, it is a gorgeous city! Lactic Folly
I stayed at Hotel Belvedere in the past - more pricey than most of the (admittedly cheap) accommodations I stayed at for interviews, but very nice and comfortable, within walking distance of campus. Breakfast included.
robinre
i pass by the hochelaga inn, the rosemount inn, the secret garden on the walk to school each day (all of them are under 10 mins from the med building), and they all look super cute. i always see people eating breakfast at the hochelaga inn while i walk and it looks nice. havent been to any of them but theyre prime location, small and seem lovely from the outside
