taiga gal
ok here is a simple question i should know the answer to, i lived in ontario from age 9-23 so did highschool and 1st degree there, but since then lived in BC and now NT. so i am wondering if i would be considered IP? as far as i know McMaster would treat me as IP in this case. if anyone knows pls share, and i will fire an email to nosm but i am sure they are really busy now thanks! jojoluvsu2
I don't think NOSM specifically considers IP and OOP like other schools do with different cutoffs or special consideration. They're more concerned with context, rural vs. urban etc. That being said, I believe last year's entry had only one student from OOP (the stats are on the NOSM page), so clearly there is preference for IP vs. OOP. Your case is tricky. You went to high school in Ontario and that I believe is how they guage "where you grew up" (they ask for the postal code of your high school on the application). That counts for a big chunk (I think...who actually knows?!?). Since then, if you've sayed north and rural things could only get better. I know a few people who have gotten in who grew up in Thunder Bay, moved to Toronto (or thereabouts) for University and stayed for 4 years afterwards. They still got acceptance, so clearly those high school years count for a huge amount of context. Where did you live in Ontario 9-23?
