Interview groups

So for those who got an interview:

The info we have is

'' Upon registration, you will receive a colour-coded tag to designate your group. While one group is participating in interviews, the other will be sequestered for reasons of security. Those who register at 7:15 AM will be split into 8 AM or 10:30 AM groups. Those who register at noon will be split into 1PM or 3:30 PM groups. Only once you have registered will your group membership be determined. Switching groups is not an option. ''

Does that mean that some may be arriving at 7:15 AM and waiting +3h in the lobby for their turn? I wonder if we will be examined on our social skills during those 3h

Last year, the waiting group was placed in a room with large tables. There was food, etc. We got a chance to talk with others who were invited. Part way through we had a Q/A and presentation session with current med students. That pretty much took up the 2-3 spare hours.

Can anyone that was interviewed at McGill before elaborate on the McGill mmi? Not specific questions of course but ie is there a essay section, traditional panel section and what other scenarios

Should we expect? And how long? Thanks! I heard from some ppl that McGill mmi tends to not be as straight forward as other schools, just wondering what that means

Expect the unexpected ;)

8-10 stations (8-10 mins/station). One could be asked to perform a task, to act with standardized actors or to discuss with somebody. Straightforward things.

Half of the morning group will do their interviews from 8-10AM, and the other half will do them from 10-12AM. The group that's not doing the interview is in a really nice room with tables and food (but you can't leave the room (except for bathroom breaks), because they don't want you to discuss the interviews with the people doing them in the afternoon). While you're in that room waiting, there will be some presentations from the Admissions office, current students that will talk about their experience in front, etc., that will last during most of your waiting time. You will also have some time to discuss with other applicants. The food is DELICIOUS (it's a caterer, there are pastries, sandwitches, etc.) It's a really cool experience.
