I Just received my letter from ORPAS, my sub GPA is 3.5 and cGPA is 3.35. My second year marks really brought me down :( . Banking on Queens because their cut off is the lowest and I do have extensive extracurricular experience. I also applied to U of T OT. I was accepted to D'Youville College in Buffalo for their Physical Therapy program. It looks like I may have to start considering DYC...

.@tequila_sunrise you still have a chance at Queen's! DYC is not a bad option though, I would suggest you go there if it doesn't work out at Queen's. Good job for having a back up plan. This is my second time applying and I just got my orpas confirmation that my subGPA is 3.74, up from 3.61 last year when I got flat out rejected from 3 schools. I have high hopes for this round, good luck to all :)

Did you need to have all these prerequisite courses for the d'youville college to get accepted? Thats quite an extensive list of prerequisites. All my physiology courses didn't have a lab component to it so I'm not sure if they would consider it.

Math & Natural Sciences

Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II with labs,

Chemistry for the Health Sciences I

Chemistry for the Health Sciences II

Chemistry for the Health Sciences Laboratory

Introduction to Physics I and II with labs

Introduction to Applied Statistics

Social and Behavioral Sciences

Principles of Sociology or Social Problems

General Psychology

Developmental Psychology

Medical Terminology

You do not have to have the prereqs before you apply, you just need to have them completed or in progress before you begin. I still need to get physics I plan on completing it through Athabasca online.

Not really worth it for me to apply to there then. I saw better well known us schools with less prerequisites in better areas like california and florida.

why didnt you apply at queens, with your experience, thats what they look for. Your the exact type of person that should get into a physio program but due to skyrocketing GPA requirements it could be tough. Wish you the best of luck.

I know, the GPA only thing is a joke and is in no way indicative of a quality candidate; however, they need a way to streamline the process and what better way to do it. I didn't apply to Queens because I have 2 young children and I live in windsor and there is no way I could commute from Kingston to Windsor on weekends. I'm hoping for the best but who knows. I got burned by a B- in second year otherwise I would have had a 3.8. Oh well, we'll see.

Osap is for residents of Ontario, no matter where you choose to study, as long as the school is an osap approved school (all legitimate schools are). Ex. if a student from BC comes to study PT in Ontario, they would not be eligible. A student from Ontario who studies at McGill would be. This is what I understood from the site.

Yea, that's my understanding too but I'm trying to confirm.
