oneshotwonder
How is everyone feeling so far about the interview? I went home immediately and wrote this out (I actually wrote out the stations and then labelled them... I re-arranged them so they would be easier to see): Station 2 - Above Average Station 5 - Above Average Station 7 - Above Average Station 8 - Above Average Station 10 - Above Average Station 9 - Average Station 3 - Average Station 4 - Average Station 1 - Below Average Station 6 - Below Average The 11th station was left out because we had one rest station. I actually felt my 'Average stations" are more likely in the lower-range of average... but again, my perspective could be very different from those of the assessors.. how does everyone else feel? I think it would be nice to see how we fair in a few months based on our own perspectives of how the interview went... and I'm sure some people are just DYING to talk about their experiences as well! david80
Does anyone know if UBC drops your lowest station and highest? Or is it all just averaged?
MaybeMed
Did anyone receive feedback from interviewers? I believe it was said that they are not supposed to give any feedback, but did anyone have an interviewer say things like "good job", or "you did very well" etc? Just curious. The interviewers in general were very friendly, and speaking to a few of some of the more senior medical students, they reckoned that the interviewer instructions may have changed recently. Interesting. I didn't have any interviewers make those specific comments. However, it seemed that many of them were not going through standard scripts of prompts, but rather going off of what I said and expanding on my viewpoints/perspectives on what had been already mentioned. It felt much more like a conversation for many of the stations than an interview.. much different from my previous experience with the UBC MMI. UBCMD
I never understand why people try to rate themselves on how they performed on their MMIs. It's an exercise in futility. Stop trying to overanalyze and do something productive between now and May.
in2bat0r
Having gone through this experience, what are some things you would do differently, if put in the MMI situation again? I ask only because I have another upcoming MMI, and while I have done some self-reflection, I would appreciate the opinions of others.
BAMFtastic
I really enjoyed the whole process. I had one interviewer tell me I did a great job... I noticed the shock on their face when they realized they weren't supposed to tell me that hahahah. Was an awesome feeling.
monty
Yeah I also had an interviewer say that. Felt great, who knows if everyone did a great job though lol...three months, three months and then all the speculation will be over.
