PT and premed crediting?

Hello,

I have a list of programs that are crediting the premed at UdeM but I don't know those programs at McGill. I'm still debating the fact that I should go science related program or not. So maybe skipping premed and having 1yr less of studying might be a valid argument. I know PT is crediting the premed at UdeM but what about McGill?

Except if you do them in the summer after your admission process so the grades wouldn't come in? Right? (thought of this just now)

your pre-req science courses usually should be completed BEFORE the admissions process....

By the way, I may be reading too much into your question, but if you are so concerned about science courses hurting your GPA, why do you think med school is such a good choice for you?

I didn't say that science course will affect my GPA, but taking them in the summer when everyone's partying might affect it. Or taking them extra in a normal session will affect me too (more work to do)! Unless there is the possibility to swap those courses with the normal program courses and do them in my last session (the non-pre req ones).

What is there to do? And you are sure about the need of completing those courses BEFORE the admission process? Anyone can confirm it?

This is the new policy (starting next year at McGill), you will have to complete your prerequ's before applying to the MD program. This is also on the McGill website.

Your summer classes will be included, along with any other classes, just remember that if you want to study during the summer McGill is fine with that, as long as you keep 15 credits in each of the regular fall/winter semesters, you cannot use summer classes to take 4 classes instead of 5 within a regular semester.

From McGill's website : Applicants who have successfully obtained a diploma of college studies (Diplôme d'études collégiales; "DEC") in a pre-university program can apply with a 90 credit program from a Quebec university.

Does this mean that, if I have completed my DEC in Health Sciences as well as a Bachelor in OT, I'm eligible for Medicine (without doing Med-P) ?
