dedemed
Hi does anyone know how queens consider old MCAT writting scores considering that MCAT no more have a writting section? For instance I wrote MCAT in 2011 and got 32O if I apply next year do they still look at my writting score? Thanks
TaRoEl
Most likely no since they can just scrap it and make it go away, now 2015 is gonna be the real nail bitter since two streams of mcat will come into play if the current rules remain the same. lwu018
I had a 33O and got an interview this year for the MD/PhD program. I've heard the MCAT cutoff is the same for the MD program.
lwu018
Nice, gratz. 12345 Thanks Didn't think it would come through at first considering Queen's was notorious for restricting interviews to candidates with high writing scores. Looks like that wall has finally come down.

Was that your only MCAT score? Until we have someone else report an invite with a similar WS we should remain skeptical (not that I don't believe you got an invite with that score, but there may be more to the story). You make a good point that it is premature to jump to the conclusion that Queens has deemed the writing score redundant. My previous MCAT score was 11 bio/10 phys/9 verbal/ Q writing. However, I'm assuming they didn't use that score as my verbal score would be too low. I should note that my statement about the MD / PhD and MD program having the same MCAT cutoff is based on hearsay knowledge. It's quite possible they waived my substandard writing score because I applied to the MD / PhD program. Edit - I do wonder though how Queens, or any medical school in general, could justify using the writing score as part of their admissions process next year when many applicants will be applying in with MCAT's without the writing section.
