To pick or not to pick!

Hello everyone,

As I'm preparing for MMI for McGill I have received conflicting advices on how to handle questions in general. I have been advised to be very careful and not to pick a side and always argue 'both issues at hand' pros and cons of each, consult supervisors, colleagues, etc but never pick a side and try to stay in the middle to be safe, as in the example of (which patient of these 2 would you perform organ transplantation and why). I somewhat feel this may compromise my chance as I feel some interviewers wants to see firmness and stick to one side and defend it.

What do you this McGill university wants exactly when it comes to either choosing a side or being in the middle?

I've heard (from students who have went through the process, so take into consideration) that they were successful in mmi by beginning with addressing both sides of the question, pros and cons of each, then picking one side and explaining why they thought it was the better choice. a lot of the questions will not have a right or wrong answer, but you will instead be evaluated on your reasoning.
