northernnurse2013
Hey guys, For those of you who have gone through a MMI before, did you make sure your answers took up the entire 8 minutes you're given, or did you only say what you felt needed to be said? I'm just worried that I may not be able to think of 8 minutes of things to talk about for all questions? Applied at NOSM, interview at NOSM
polarbear89
This is something I'm worried about. I can speak for about 6 minutes but if I try and keep on going it gets repetitive. :S

the.milky.way
Do people ever go for the full 8 minutes? Is that frowned upon? To put it another way, if the interviewer doesn't have time to ask you for follow up questions, is this viewed as a bad thing?
Frenchy
With my experience with MMI it is not frowned upon as long as your are engaging and make the conversation interesting. If you are just trying to use up the time and are sounding repetitive then that would not be so good. Just try to answer the question with some personal experiences. If you are done before the time is up they ask you additional questions. You can always go back to the original question to add more information before the time is up if you'd like. MMIs are very low stress.
cbarne01
At the mock MMI's for vet school at U of G, we were told that there are a few options. - Take your time to read the prompt and prepare, use more than 2 minutes. - When you're finished and follow-up questions have been asked, you can either hang our and wait (probably no conversation tho) or leave the room early. dazzle
From my experience, MMI stations don't ask that you deliver an 8-minute speech. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. The interviewers have follow up questions when you're done explaining what you're saying.
