Guest tryhardnumber1
Hello everyone, I'm in high school and I'm trying to develop study techniques for CEGEP and my last semester to get a good R-score. I tried everything to win the academic medal of the GG, but it didn't seem to work quite well. I only have one semester left and I need to beat the person who is leading by a few points. Guess it's mission impossible to be valedictorian. Any tips on how to study well, get good grades, stay motivated, be teacher's pet ?

Guest tryhardnumber1
Hmm, true. I might be a gunner, set aside unethical actions that would be taken. However, time management is probably my weakness.
feversugar
I don't really have any tips for studying, but if you want teachers to like you I would suggest to try and keep the same teachers as much as possible every semester (e.g. I had the same philosophy teacher for the 3 philosophy classes) -- they tend to talk to you more because they already know you Also don't sit int he back and go to all your classes. Participate in class but don't be a gunner -- although answer question noone wants to answer (i.e. after 10 seconds of no volunteers, put your hand up)
apache
i was good pals with the arts valedictorian of arts around 4-5 years ago, awesome guy, smoked like two packs a day though, don't know how he did it my one issue with the whole valedictorian thing is it's not a complete measure of a person, and inhibits people from becoming balanced, not only in academics, but in life... it's honestly not even a financial biggie, i got 30 g a year in scholarships after my grade 12 60/90 semester split stopped effecting my apps, i actually have only ever been rejected for two scholarships... and i only have a 3.8... but few people take courses in humanities requiring philosophical 25 page papers, multiple... and 3 3rd year biochems... so in the game of real life, (besides my degree i just toss the certificates in a box now, and i have a couple major major scholarships which paid for a couple nice trips... the balance and experience serves you, not necessarily having a 4.0... my psych gpa was like 3.97, on like 20 plus courses, i also did almost 50 in 4 years, did some insane things on campus... how do you factor those in, in the end all these awards are just superfluous lines on the cv and a check Hello everyone,I'm in high school and I'm trying to develop study techniques for CEGEP and my last semester to get a good R-score. apache
profs hate that, for real, just be real, and know your ****, like in and out... and you think you do, but you don't, because i mean, if you have an interest going beyond class you read insane ammounts of extra stuff... don't fake interest, it's obvious... i was in the top five in psych, and i think there are like 3-4 thousand psych students... but they rank based on research contribution, gpa, number of courses in the department... when you take a class with 40 spots fills like 11, and like 5 fail, and you get in the a's yeah... in university to really be friends with a prof you have to be an equal, personality wise, mature, and be able to discuss material not at the level they would, but certainly able to go beyond the course material and ask intelligent suggestive questions... oh, so if you did this, used fourier analysis on the imaging, you could transform the pattern of first lesions to match the psychometrics nicely... **** like that... honestly, i chat soccer, my one old profs wife probs, music... life... also some neuroscience and what not... but honestly that's the minority often, lol Hello everyone,I'm in high school and I'm trying to develop study techniques for CEGEP and my last semester to get a good R-score.
