mjd2012
just wondering opinions on whether staying in Gatineau is a good idea? according to google maps, its about a 20 minute drive from the place I am staying to where my interview is being held at U Ottawa. I am OOP and uncertain about driving time (although I will be renting a car) and what it is like getting around Ottawa. is traffic really bad? is this really a big deal? was hoping to save a little on the cost of a hotel by staying in Gatineau (getting a better hotel for the same price as downtown!). any advice would be appreciated! thanks! honeybadgers
you should be fine.. it will likely be 20-30 minutes max from gatineau if you're driving
honeybadgers
Take transit, it'll save you a lot of time with parking and stuff since you are OOP. if you're staying in gatineau, i wouldn't recommend taking the bus because it will take you upwards of an hour to get to the general hospital campus where the interviews are held.. if you're staying downtown ottawa, however, you will be near the transit way.. keep in mind too that access to roger guindon hall via oc transpo is awful on the weekends (if you are interviewing saturday/sunday) as for parking, it is $16 for the day in the rgn lot or $13 in the rehab centre lot, which is actually closer to the rgn doors
airborne
It is very easy to get from Gatineau to Roger-Guindon. When is your interview?
mjd2012
Thanks for the info everyone! My interview is on a Wednesday so I wasn't sure about traffic and whatnot. Although it is in the afternoon, there a re still tours and whatnot going on in the morning so I will likely be commuting then.
