Interview Feedback: No comment :) /:(

Time for the long wait till the end of the world. I shouldn't calculate my odds of surviving the incoming apocalypse and get ready to rewrite the MCAT. Hopefully there is massive waitlist movement this year and I keep my sanity.

Gonna need this group, didn't think my interview went well at all...

Too many q's in the time allotted, felt like I couldn't fully support the statements I was making. Panel wasn't as friendly as I would've liked...

Blah

The 2016ers were amazingly helpful and nice, though! Thank you to all who helped out.

My interviewers blew hot and cold where they were engaged (almost conversational) and friendy half the time and they were staring at me with stone expressions the other half. Also near the end, even though we had a decent amount of time left the med student was trying to rush me out while the other two were still trying to chat so that was a bit weird haha. The student who escorted me to the room told me not to let the interviewers responses phase me so that was definitely good and needed advice for going in.

There were things I could have explored better or rephrased but oh well.

I'm going to hope it went well, and if not it was a great experience and practice for next cycle.

Ahhh Byrd why do you say that? I thought the panel was so friendly and genuine! I feel like I just told stories of my ABS the whole time

I think at the end they didn't get to know anything about me, and what makes me unique even though I told them. Not impressed with the interview.

ahhh sorry ByrdPac I didn't see this earlier! But if you told them what makes you unique I don't see how they didn't get to know anything? I'm sure you did a lot better than you think :)!!

How did everyone else feel about the interview?

I got the vibe that they didn't really get to know me as well, but like others mentioned it might have to do with the format of the interview and your specific panel. It's also easy to let your nerves get the best of you and make you feel as if it didn't go well.

However, the staff and volunteering students were extremely kind, helpful and welcoming!

Don't worry all - I was nailing my interview until the very end when it was just conversation (after all the questions) and somehow it came out that U of T is my first choice. Yeeeeaaahhhh.....rejected for sure!

On the other hand, maybe you got bonus points for honesty!

I think it's important to remember that universities understand that interviewees are evaluating them just as much as they're evaluating us. Im sure they don't expect everyone who interviewed at Western to have Western as their first choice. I'm sure you'll be fine!
