FML.
Are there policies like up here where they only look at your second undergrad granted that you complete it? My past two years are above 3.9, but my first undergrad cGPA was a 3.17...
Thomas86
there is no such policy in the US... they require ALL your grades including your undergrad

Does that mean I don't have a shot at a mid/top tier medical school GPA-wise or will the upward trend be of significant importance?
bored
I do believe Americans like an upward trend. I think you would be better off asking this question at sdn as they might have people that got in with 2 degrees there

Does that mean I don't have a shot at a mid/top tier medical school GPA-wise or will the upward trend be of significant importance? from what I've seen, MCAT could save you if your GPA is below average, basically average requirements for US medical schools are 3.6-8 GPA and 33 MCAT, now if you score higher on your MCAT, you would definitely have a chance.. plus USAs approach is holistic, meaning they don't focus only on one specific thing.. so if your gpa is low you can make it up by focusing on your ECs and MCAT
