EDIT

A large Ophthalmology practice in TORONTO is looking for medical assistants to help run the clinic. This is a great opportunity for anyone that is taking a year off of school or waiting for the next application cycle. You will get to work with several Ophthalmologists of various subspecialities and gain real life clinical experience.

All training is done on the job and you will be taught how to:

-Take history

-Check visual acuity and pupillary reflexes

-Conduct various diagnostic tests (OCT, HRT, HVF, A-scan)

You must:

-Learn quickly

-Adapt to changing needs of the clinic

-Work very well in a team

-Take initiative and optimize patient flow

-Previous knowledge of the eye a plus

-Fluency in other languages (particularly Russian) a plus

This is a great opportunity to get work experience in the medical field alongside doctors, medical fellows, residents and students and to obtain very strong references for your medical school application.

Work is on a part-time basis with minimum one year commitment.
