Good Driving schools in Toronto?

you don't need a driving school, just find a driving coach and take private lessons, much cheaper.

Disagree, people need to know road rules inside out before they get on the road.

None of my friends knew them, I knew them like the back of my hand since I was that one nerd paying attn in class lol. I didn't hesitate or ask "can I do that" questions with my instructor the entire time, it went by so much smoother.

I agree with this.

There are already far too many people who don't understand/follow the basic rules of the road (merging while in the intersection, using turning signals, STOP sign.., speed limits, second differential in following time to allow proper braking space &c).

You're driving the rest of your life (most likely), pay the money..it is worth it.

You guys are talking like everyone you see on the road knows nothing about driving while you do. Everyone that takes driver's ed knows what a turn signal is. They just choose not to follow the rules. Statistically speaking, you guys probably will end up like that too (just wait for that one time you make a rolling stop).

I legitimately feel that alot of people dont know a few things here and there. And while its okay to forget little rules (especially since people never practice them) I dont agree with not even learning them to begin with. Thats a whole other stage of lazy and dangerous.

I also second Young Drivers :) I'm fond of saying, if everyone drove as well as I did, we wouldn't need insurance! lol ... I jest of course! But in all honesty I felt that YD helped me gain confidence for the driving tests and driving in general! (I didn't do YD in Toronto but am assuming it will be the same quality as where I did it)

Have you driven in Toronto lately? The incompetent began outnumbering the competent years ago.

To OP - don't worry about driver's ed. Just go up to the MTO office in Bancroft, do a quick spin around the block with the examiner and you'll get your licence. Then it will be a fun "choose your own adventure" when you head out on the 401.
