d17
So I have two solid reference letters, one from a professor and one from my boss. For the third, I could use a volunteer coordinator but I honestly that a letter from a former (adult) tutee would be stronger since I've been working personally with him for a year whereas the volunteer coordinator I just wave hi to and exchange a few words every so often. Use the tutoring one then... as far as I understand... it's not about who writes your letter as long as the letter is great.

If this person is in a position to evaluate to objectively, then go for it.
Hockeynut
Honestly I find the no friends rule rather awkward. Seeing as anyone you will have had a connection with ie is able to write you a good letter I would consider a friend. On another note I see the LOR as kind of useless as honestly, would anyone ever get someone who would write them a bad LOR?

I don't think the reference letters are such a great part of the whole assessment scheme. Also, we are allows to get reference letters from tutees?? I didn't know that

There is a difference between a good letter, and an amazing letter. The latter is obviously much harder to get, but I think that it means a lot. futurepediatric
Do all schools require 3 reference letters? Doesn't Dalhousie not require ref letters anymore? Don't quote me on this, I'm not sure at all; I just remember hearing this sometime last year
