Advice for this summer

Hey so this summer I had originally planned on:

-studying for the verbal on the MCAT which I planned on writing next year

-studying orgo and physics because I have to take both of those courses next year

-help assist the organization of the charity "Mission Haiti"

-obtaining an observership

-obtaining a small part-time job (like 2 or 3 days/week). Most likely at a retail store (loblaws etc.)

-volunteering with Toronto Rehab

So far, the only things I have running right now is everything in bold. I just found out that since I applied to volunteer with Toronto Rehab pretty late, that I will not be able to volunteer with them. It kind of sucks cause I was really looking forward to volunteering with them because you literally work with the patients.

Anyways, my question is am I attempting to do too much? I know quality is more important than quantity, but I've been just wanting to taste a bit of everything.

I don't think studying for a couple courses and verbal (really won't take much time out of your day every day if you're doing it all summer) while working a small part time job is too much. Observerships, if you're lucky enough to get one as an undergrad, probably won't take up too much time either. And "help assist the organization of the charity 'Mission Haiti'" doesn't tell us anything about what you're doing and how much of a commitment it is so I can't comment on that. You could be filing papers for an hour a week, or you could be spearheading an entire initiative.

Regardless, from what you've written, it doesn't seem like you'll be spreading yourself too thin at all. It actually sounds like a somewhat light load considering you won't be working full time. That's not to say that you should pile more on so that your application will shine. Just that it doesn't seem to me that you should struggle with that amount of stuff. Especially if the non-bolded ones never end up happening.
