lildoc Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 Hi, I know Western looks at two years that meet their academic and MCAT cutoffs. I also know that they don't completely dismiss your application if you only have 1 year that meets their GPA cutoff, as long as your current year also meets cutoffs by the end of April. If you were accepted, I know they can withdraw their offer if the second year you plan to use does not meet the cutoffs. I just finished 3rd year with a 3.75 GPA, but my second year GPA was a 3.46 and my first a 3.3. Because I only have one year that meets cutoffs, I was just wondering if it is actually worth it to apply in 4th year. My MCAT score is VR11, BS12, PS10. Are these terms actually significant when it comes to interview offers. Has anyone actually gotten an offer with only one year (assuming they also were successful in their second year after their admission)? Is it worth applying in 4th year? Or should I just take a year off and apply after my 4th year marks are solid? Does anyone recommend doing a 5th year to better my GPA? Any helpful advice would be amazing!
nosuperman Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 I was accepted after a second undergrad so I applied with the first year and, after being accepted, simply had to send them my updated transcript to show my second year met the cutoffs. Its not uncommon. If you're ahead of the cutoffs then apply - always err on the side of applying. Worst case you get the experience of applying, best case you get in.
shadows16 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 i interviewed this year and i have one year that meets the cutoffs, one year pending! (this year)
