Tom&Jerry
I just finished my second year and was very sad to see that I got a B in physics. I know it is not the worst grade possible but it brings my overall and science gpa down. Aside from this I revieved B+'s in both general chem courses. I do understand that its totally my fault...but what should I do? Retake it? Do more science courses? Any feedback greatly appreciated..

ralk
A couple B's won't sink your chances, especially in your second year. Many people have gotten into med school with far worse than three B's on their record. At many Canadian schools, those grades won't even factor into the equation, assuming two things: 1) You carry a full course load each year. 2) You have a higher GPA your next two years. Do not retake courses, most schools won't allow the updated marks and it could actually hurt you if you do not carry a full course load on top of the repeated courses. It doesn't matter if you take science courses or not for most schools. There are a few with prereqs (Ottawa, for example), so look into those at any school you'd like to apply to, though most schools have dropped any formal prereqs. Figure out why you got B's, correct them for next semester. This is absolutely nothing to be worried about.
Sarvish
Nothing can be done, a B isn't too bad. I managed to screw up and get a C in a major 3rd year science course and my GPA should still be competitive for applications.
