Masters Applicant

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am starting a 2-yr course based masters this september and I would like to apply to U of C med this cycle. Will it look bad (in the subjective assessment) if I apply to med school half-way through my masters? If I get in, I plan to drop the masters.

Has anyone in the same situation been successful? Thanks

There have been people that have done this before as far as I know.

It's generally frowned upon in thesis-based postgraduate programs. They now make you and your supervisor (or I'm guessing a graduate committee in course based programs) sign a form so there is open disclosure between you and the supervisor. As long as there is transparency it should be ok

That's ok as long as you sign the form and disclose your intentions and your supervisor signs off on it.
