Dr. Brule
Hello - I'm a PhD applicant, and I've done a ton of presentations (oral and poster). I have given talks at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (largest eng conference in the world) for 4 years in a row now, and I was wondering if I should throw all 4 of them into one sketch entry or just leave each to their own entry. I've also done like 6 poster presentations at this ophthalmic network conference that I'm a member of, but I really don't think I should be putting each in their own sketch entry. Do you think it's OK if I group things into individual entries? I just ate way too much cheese cake.
Leon
It depends on the rest of your ABS. I had 38 activities when I applied, 11 of which were research. I felt that was a healthy number - some of my entries were grouped but others were not. If I had not grouped some, I feel that my application would have appeared too research heavy. I say group as needed to make your application look balanced without under playing your achievements (the ABS is meant for you to boast. You want to raise the eyebrows of those adcoms as best you can).
