DoctorS
When I do verbal, I usually narrow the question down to two choices and always end up picking the wrong answer. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to pick the correct answer. To me, both answers look good and I end up guessing.

Sometimes it's hard to pick that final answer between the two because they clearly don't make it obvious. It may seem really stupid but last year, it worked quite well for me because I experienced the exact same thing... try to do a couple practice passages where you narrow it down to 2 answers, then try to pick your best one. Once you've picked that one, choose the OTHER one to be your answer! Often times, my justification was totally off and then I tried doing this and I was getting only 1 maybe 2 wrong a passage (a miracle for me). Once you've picked that one, choose the OTHER one to be your answer! Often times, my justification was totally off and then I tried doing this and I was getting only 1 maybe 2 wrong a passage (a miracle for me). I don't think this is really a good idea... It's basically second-guessing yourself for every 50/50 question (which there are a lot of in VR). VR does come down to 50/50 quite often, but the best way to tackle them is to try your best to pick the right answer, or at least guess rather than pick the answer you think is LESS right of the two. A certain part of VR is luck, for sure, but that's no reason to pick the answer you think is second best. You could just be unlucky when it comes to the guesses, but what's more likely is you just need more practice interpretting. If you aren't already, critically examine these 50/50 questions that you get wrong to really understand why you didn't choose the best answer. DoctorS, are you taking a prep course? If so, the VR tutor would be an excellent resource for this sort of issue.
LeBronto2019
I'm just offering a fun unique option to TRY out, not to do on the actual exam. If you keep getting them wrong after narrowing it down, then maybe a new approach would help. Jeez, try to have fun and be creative people. LeBronto2019
Ohh yeah, definitely! Or in junior high when marks didnt really matter for us, just have a distinct cubed eraser that we'd roll on exams: A, B, C, D, roll again, or actually try! Luckily I got a handful of 'actually try'...which is probably why I'm still not in grade 7!
