Any glitches/feedback comments/improvements for the new forums?

Hi all,

 

We've successfully migrated off of the old vBulletin software, and onto Invision Power Board.  Hopefully, all the user accounts have successfully been transferred over.  This software is much more modern, and has better capabilities to deal with spam.  It should also have dealt with the user registration problem.  There are some new features here, including the ability to set up a blog, and a more robust chat room.

 

If you have any comments or notice any glitches, please post them here in this thread, and we'll see what can be done to address them.

Not everything got transferred over. For example I had 2 PMs before the update which I wasn't able to check and now I can't even access them.

Also it seams a lot of posts and threads in the last 2 days didn't transfer over.

 

And does this mean the old furoms are permanently gone?

I also noticed some posts from recently haven't been transferred over. Particularly the "Movies about Medicine" thread in the off-topic forum. If this could be fixed, it would be much appreciated!

Yeah I noted that not all PMs and posts were transferred. Well, at least, it's a quiet period, so no worries.

Yeah it definitely appears that nothing after August 5 really made the transfer.  Definitely an upgrade nonetheless haha.

Yes, nothing from Aug 6-7 made it over, including threads and PM's. Unfortunately, we aren't going to be able to transfer those items over, but everything else should have made it.

Thanks for continuing to put time and effort into this. It has to be almost 15 years by now, eh?

 

One small thing: I had 50+ names on my "ignore list" on the previous software. It looks like that list didn't survive the migration. Not a big deal, I'll just plonk them again.

1. In testing out the new user registration, I don't believe the forum is successfully sending out vadliation emails.

 

2. The limit to 'liking' posts is currently 0 I think.

Also for some reason I can't visit the Med Student subforum because the webfilter at the hostel I'm currently staying at is saying it's inappropriate. What have you guys been getting up to in there...

Just a quick question... I had urls of some posts that I found to be very informative saved in a word file (http://www.premed101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58328 something like this) and I am wondering if there is any way I can locate these on the upgraded forum?
